About this role

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Research Associate I to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

We are seeking creative and upbeat Research Associate I that will assist in the development and execution of research projects including experiment design, analysis of data collected and writing up experiment results.

Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the execution of a sponsored research project.
- Implement and code research ideas for new papers.
- Run baselines, experiments, and evaluations.
- Conduct original research and help develop new methods.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, graduate students, and research staff.
- Design, execute, and document experimental evaluations to validate model performance.
- Perform related technical support for the engineering team in the Biorobotics lab.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with demonstrated experience applying these languages in a software development or research context.
- Background in robotics, including familiarity with robotic systems, motion planning.

A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

- OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training
