SPACEPORT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
The Spaceport Operations Technician will take ownership of Starbase hotel operations and ensure the best guest experience. The ideal candidate will bring high attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in all areas of spaceport hospitality and site operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the highest quality of service to Starbase employees, guests, and residents by maintaining clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing social spaces
- Conduct daily inspections of rooms, homes, Airstreams, public areas, and surrounding roads to ensure cleanliness and check-in readiness
- Perform housekeeping functions and maintain high standards of cleanliness across all guest-facing spaces
- Collaborate with Facilities and Housekeeping to escalate and track maintenance needs
- Communicate daily through reporting tools and shift pass-downs, documenting task completion, inventory usage, and status updates
- Lead by example through work ethic, attention to detail, time management, and pride in upholding presentation standards
- Assist in training and mentoring team members, contributing to a culture of accountability and operational excellence
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of hospitality, facilities maintenance, or operations experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience maintaining or managing shared or social-use spaces
- Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and guest satisfaction
- Effective communicator across departments and with guests
- Experience supporting events or large gatherings with setup and breakdown responsibilities
- Comfortable identifying issues, submitting tickets, and proactively driving solutions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a large facility for long periods
- Must be available to support overtime and occasional weekend events as needed
- Must be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects
- This position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite – remote work not considered
- Valid state issued driver's license
