POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Product Testing & Rigging oversees all aspects of boat product performance testing, evaluation, and rigging operations for White River Marine Group. This role is responsible for ensuring that boats, motors, and components meet rigorous quality and performance standards while maintaining efficient, safe, and compliant rigging practices. Reporting to the Sr Manager Engineering, this position bridges engineering, production, and quality functions to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage product testing and rigging operations for all WRMG boat models, motors, and performance-related components.
- Supervise and develop team members including Performance Technicians, Rigging Leads, and Outfitters, promoting safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
- Analyze and interpret performance and rigging data to recommend improvements in product design, functionality, and setup optimization.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of testing and rigging processes.
- Establish and maintain standardized test protocols and rigging procedures that ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Oversee rigging materials, planning bills, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of boats and motors to production and testing schedules.
- Conduct safety audits and enforce compliance with Mercury certification and company safety policies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of test results, performance data, and rigging quality records for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support field and promotional events, representing WRMG’s technical and performance expertise.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Associate Degree
- Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Certificate(s) or License(s): Mercury Certification preferred; boating operation certification beneficial
- Years of experience: Minimum 3 years in marine testing, rigging supervision, or manufacturing leadership
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Strong technical knowledge of boat rigging, marine systems, and performance measurement tools.
- Skilled in performance data analysis and technical reporting.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and continuous improvement practices.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to coach, develop, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant testing software.
- Analytical problem-solving ability with a focus on accuracy and timely execution.
- Ability to operate and evaluate high-performance boats under varied conditions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 20% for field testing, dealer engagement, and promotional or industry events.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, stands, and does computer work.
Occasionally sits and lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
☒ Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
