About the role:
As an AP1000 Operations Instructor intern, you will support the development and delivery of training programs used to prepare nuclear power plant operators and technical personnel. You will work with experienced instructors, licensed operators, engineers, and training professionals supporting AP1000 reactors, or other advanced reactor technologies such as the AP300 SMR and eVinci microreactor, and customers around the world.
You will report to the US AP1000 Training Manager and be located at our Cranberry, PA facility. This is a paid full-time anchor position for the summer, May - August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development, maintenance, and improvement of technical training materials, presentations, student guides, learning activities, and digital learning products
- Observe classroom, laboratory, and simulator-based instruction to understand how licensed and non-licensed nuclear operators are trained and qualified
- Assist instructors with training development activities using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process
- Support incorporation of plant modifications, operating experience, procedures, and technical information into training products
- Participate in development and maintenance of multimedia products, digital learning content, and instructional technologies used in AP1000 training programs
- Become familiar with reactor operations principles, operator responsibilities, plant response, operating procedures, and the role training plays in supporting safe and reliable nuclear plant operation
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or related engineering degree
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Demonstrated interest in nuclear power generation, reactor operations, operator training, technical instruction, or workforce development
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
