About this role

The Scheduler Lead role exists to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent support that improves daily operations and service delivery. This position provides frontline leadership to the scheduling team by assisting with various scheduling dilemmas, being in contact with the offices related to efficient case postings and provide on-going education to the offices. The role also serves as a key liaison between leadership, schedulers, and operational teams to align with staffing resources.

Essential Function:

- Performs and supports complex scheduling activities across assigned departments, locations, or service areas.
- Provides day-to-day workflow guidance and serves as a scheduling resource for team members.
- Supports the onboarding, orientation, training, and continuing education of scheduling employees.
- Serves as a subject matter expert regarding scheduling workflows, systems, procedures, and department-specific requirements.
- Assists team members with complex scheduling concerns and escalates unresolved operational or employee matters to the appropriate supervisor.
- Reviews scheduling activities for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Supports the development, implementation, and standardization of scheduling workflows across assigned areas.
- Collaborates with clinical teams, providers, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to resolve scheduling concerns and maintain effective workflow.
- Assists the supervisor with workflow distribution, staffing coverage coordination, and communication of operational priorities.
- Participates in scheduling-related system implementations, testing, process-improvement initiatives, and organizational projects.
- Identifies workflow issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement and communicates findings to department leadership.
- Maintains current knowledge of scheduling systems, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Performs the essential responsibilities of a Scheduler based on operational needs.

Education:

- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

- Required: 5 years of scheduling, registration, patient access, medical office, or closely related experience required
