Summary
The System Manager, Pharmacy – Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and system-wide standardization of services supporting FSED and ASC locations. This role provides direct leadership and reporting structure for local site operations while driving system strategy across personnel, financial performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The System Manager ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective services aligned with organizational goals, growth strategies, and regulatory requirements. The role partners with executive leadership and local site leaders to develop scalable models, optimize resource utilization, and support expansion across FSED and ASC sites.

Baptist Health is looking for a System Manager, Pharmacy - FSED / ASC Operations! This is a remote opportunity.
Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Operations
- Provides leadership and supervision to designated groups of employees including assurance of quality service delivered by a competent staff to consistently meet the needs of the patients served.

- Provides supervision and reporting structure to assure productivity and performance. Promotes a culture that fosters the well-being of employees in the department.
- Ensures clear role expectations for staff, including expectation documents and verbal communications.
- Coordinates individual and group training along with effective cross-training programs.
- Ensures compliance of all departmental staff with mandatory education and employee health.
- Identifies opportunities for staff professional development/continuing education/in-service education.
- Assists in annual preparation and monthly variance reviews of the budget and capital requests.
- Assists with maintaining the schedule for pharmacists, technicians, and ancillary staff.
- Supports capital planning related to infrastructure, automation, and service expansion.
- Aligns resource allocation with system strategic priorities and growth forecasts.
- Identifies opportunities to improve financial performance, including labor management, supply chain optimization, and service line growth.
- Performs financial analysis, including variance reporting, productivity tracking, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Develops, manages, and monitors operational and capital budgets for FSED and ASC services
- Analyzes systems and operations involved with medication storage, preparation, and distribution to ensure cost-effective and optimal delivery of medication therapy.
- Assists in identifying medication safety initiatives designed to reduce medication events and adverse drug events and ensures that staff are adequately supported and held accountable for desired results.
- Assists with overseeing purchasing (and ensuring 340b compliance (if applicable).
- Assists in coordinating departmental quality assurance programs.
- Assists in maintaining formulary compliance.
- Assists in overseeing and ensuring compliance with USP 795, USP 797, USP 800, and USP 825.
- Assists with biweekly payroll.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
- Graduate of accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Kentucky and/or Indiana Board of Pharmacy license in good standing as applicable to practice site is required.
- 3 years minimum job-related experience.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Master's degree, Board Certification.
- PGY-1/PGY-2 ASHP Residency in administration.
- Management experience.
- 5 years of hospital practice experience.
