YOUR MISSION

PUMA is one of the world’s leading sports brands, designing and developing footwear, apparel, and accessories across performance and sport-inspired lifestyle categories. The Junior Merchandiser DTC will assist seasonal buying and assortment strategies across footwear, apparel, and accessories for DTC stores across business units. This role will be responsible for assisting in building consumer-centric assortments, managing seasonal buys, interpreting business performance, and driving category growth, profitability, and brand-right execution in PUMA Retail Stores.

This position will work closely with DTC Planning, Allocations, Marketing, Operations, Wholesale Merchandising, and external partners to ensure the right product is bought, positioned, and supported across key brick and mortar selling moments. The ideal candidate brings a balance of analytical experience, product interest and instinct, marketplace awareness, and strong cross-functional partnership skills.

- Assist in building seasonal merchandising and buying strategies across footwear, apparel, and accessories- ensuring assortments support consumer demand, brand priorities, and financial objectives.

- Support DTC Merchandising team in all responsibilities including but not limited to visual line plans, forecasting, order entry, setting up product, tracking deliveries, creating presentations, and preparing for meetings.

- Assist in developing consumer-centric assortments from the global product range while identifying regional opportunities and category needs.

- Partner with DTC Planning on forecasting, buy quantities, and financial alignment to ensure category strategies are reflected in the numbers.

- Partner with DTC Allocations and Planning teams to ensure successful go-to-market delivery.

- Assist in preparing and interpreting sales data to provide and execute against resultant recommendations and actionable strategies.

- Collaborate with Marketing and Visual Merchandising partners to maximize product exposure during key selling periods and ensure assortment stories are supported as planned.

- Partner cross-functionally with Wholesale and DTC Merchandising teams to ensure product stories are integrated across footwear, apparel, and accessories for a cohesive consumer experience.

- Identify operational efficiencies and support process improvements that help drive profitability, executional excellence, and business growth.

- Partner closely with outside vendors to ensure process and product delivery is timely and up to PUMA quality standards.

- Understand competitive environments and conduct ongoing market research focusing on consumer purchasing habits, competitive programs and customer developments.

- Visit stores, monitor competition and be in market consistently.

YOUR TALENT

- 0-2 years of experience in Merchandising or Buying in either a Wholesale or Retail organization or equivalent.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Demonstrates effective communication.

- Detail oriented with analytical strengths.

- Demonstrates ability to establish an independent view and contribute to decision-making forums.

- Knowledge of retail math and key performance indicators including sell thru, markup, gross margin, discounting, and open to buy.

- Ability to develop and create new thoughts and ideas pertaining to the presentation of products.

- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point; highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (International & Domestic).

The hiring range base pay for this position is $47,200-$62,765+ Bonus + Benefits ​
