Help individuals build stability, maintain recovery, and work toward independent living. The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is seeking a dependable, compassionate Case Manager Assistant to support residents and daily operations within our housing programs.

Working alongside the Case Manager, you will help residents pursue goals related to recovery support, employment, financial stability, and permanent housing while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

- Monitor assigned housing areas and program activities during scheduled shifts.

- Assist with resident orientation, including explaining house rules, expectations, and procedures.

- Support residents progress toward their goals and communicate updates to the Case Manager.

- Coordinate and monitor chore assignments, conduct room inspections and bed checks, and report rule violations promptly.

- Maintain accurate daily logs documenting resident activities, house conditions, incidents, and concerns.

- Provide transportation and supervise residents during approved group and therapeutic activities.

- Conduct and observe resident drug and alcohol screenings according to program procedures, including screenings following unsupervised visits or events away from the facility.

- Respond to crisis situations according to established procedures and notify the Case Manager promptly.

- Participate in house meetings, staff meetings, and regular discussions with housing leadership.

- Follow YMCA policies, program procedures, and risk management and safety requirements.

- Model the YMCAs core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

- Current, valid drivers license.

- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in spoken and written English.

- Strong judgment, sound decision-making, flexibility, and a professional approach to challenging situations.

- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.

- Ability to treat residents and coworkers with dignity, respect, empathy, and appropriate professional boundaries.

- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to remain on-site throughout scheduled work hours.

- Willingness to comply with applicable YMCA employee screening policies.
