Salary: $20 per hour
Schedule: Third Shift, Sunday to Wednesday, 10p-8a, 40 hours
Program Summary :
A transitional group home that provides rehabilitation services to adults who have serious mental illness. This program provides the opportunity to improve self-care skills while learning to function independently in the community.
Position Summary:
The Residential Aide is responsible for direct client care. This includes activities of daily living and providing support for safety, health, and wellness. This position also assists program staff, and the ideal candidate will establish, develop, and maintain respectful relationships with the people served. The Residential Aide will participate in maintaining a safe, harm-free environment for all residents.
Working within Adult Services, the Residential Aide works on the Residential Behavioral Health Treatment care team to support clients recovery from mental illness, substance use, and homelessness.
The Third Shift staff member is primarily responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment within the group home. Due to the nature of the overnight shift, responsibilities are focused largely on environmental and routine monitoring tasks, including:
- Documenting water temperatures as required.
- Checking and recording refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Ensuring common areas remain clean, orderly, and sanitary.
- Completing routine environmental and safety checks throughout the home.
- Maintaining a comfortable and well-maintained living environment for residents.
- Completing required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reporting any maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns to the appropriate staff.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED
- 2+ years relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
Orientation:
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
