About this role

Bison Transport is looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition leader to lead our recruitment strategy across North America and ensure we have the talent required to support our growth plans.

Reporting to the VP, HR & People Development, this role leads Talent Acquisition across Canada, the United States and Mexico while partnering with business leaders to understand workforce needs, develop talent pipelines and ensure Bison has the people and capabilities required to execute its plans.

This role combines leadership of Talent Acquisition with responsibility for workforce planning, talent pipeline development and broader workforce strategy across North America.

This is an opportunity to lead an established Talent Acquisition team while advancing how Bison attracts, plans for and acquires talent. You'll have the opportunity to influence decisions across the business, support critical hiring initiatives and partner with leaders to ensure the organization has the talent and workforce capability required to execute its plans.

What You'll Be Responsible For

- Leading Talent Acquisition across Canada, the United States and Mexico.
- Developing and coaching a team of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment professionals.
- Building recruitment strategies that support business growth and evolving workforce needs.
- Leading executive, business-critical and difficult-to-fill recruitment initiatives.
- Developing proactive talent pipelines and strategic sourcing approaches.
- Partnering with leaders on workforce planning, talent risk, succession and future capability needs.
- Leveraging technology, automation and analytics to improve recruiting outcomes and efficiency.
- Managing external recruiting and sourcing partners.
- Supporting workforce strategies involving domestic, nearshore, offshore and outsourced talent models.

Why This Role Matters

This role sits at the intersection of talent acquisition, workforce planning and business strategy. As Bison continues to grow, the ability to attract and retain the right talent will remain a key differentiator. You'll work directly with senior leaders to identify talent needs, address workforce challenges and ensure hiring strategies align with business priorities.

Success in this role means ensuring Bison has the talent, workforce plans and recruiting capability required to support future growth.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a leader who understands both the strategic and operational sides of Talent Acquisition.

You have experience leading recruitment teams, building talent pipelines and partnering with business leaders to solve workforce challenges. You know how to balance long-term planning with day-to-day execution and can move comfortably between discussing strategy with executives and supporting a critical hiring initiative when needed.

Most importantly, you see Talent Acquisition as more than filling vacancies. You understand how talent, workforce planning and business strategy come together to support organizational success.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, workforce planning or a related field.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing recruitment teams.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders on workforce and hiring strategies.
- Strong strategic sourcing and talent pipeline development experience.
- Strong analytical, relationship management and influencing skills.
- Experience with outsourced, nearshore or offshore workforce models is considered an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, manufacturing or another operationally intensive industry is considered a strong asset.
