Job Title: Sr. Accountant I

A little bit about our team:

The Record to Report Accounting Team is responsible for managing all the center's accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Record to Report Accounting Team, the Accounting Operations Group provides accounting services and support to WMG's US record labels and businesses.

Your Role:

The Senior Accountant I is responsible for performing accounting, analysis, and reporting activities across labels/business units and supporting internal stakeholders.

Here you'll get to:

- Perform accounting, analysis, and reporting activities to support the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and related deliverables.
- Perform tasks as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, allocations, reclasses, and other accounting adjustments.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, and other assigned accounting areas, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items and compliance with company policies.
- Perform variance analyses related to system reconciliations, intercompany mismatches, and ad hoc requests, and provide timely support and explanations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with offshore team members to support the accurate and timely completion of assigned activities.
- Support automation and process improvement opportunities within BlackLine to enhance the close process and improve operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, accounting policies, and U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, tax reporting requirements, and the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
- Maintain strong working relationships with business unit finance teams and other stakeholders while supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed.

About you:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-5 years of experience in Shared Service or Corporate Accounting and/or experience with a Big 4 CPA firm
- SAP S4 Hanna
- HFM Familiarity
- Blackline experience

We’d love it if you also had:

- CPA plus
- Blackline experience
- Experience in a Shared Services environment
- Experience working in a SOX controlled environment
- Experience conducting internal & external audits
- Experience with flux analysis and SEC reporting
- Experience performing fixed asset accounting related activities
- Music industry experience a plus
- Strong work-ethic and are a self-starter with effective organizational skills with attention to detail who proactively seeks out new solutions
- Problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Partnering, influencing, and communication skills to convey key elements in a concise and positive manner
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and as a strategic partner in a team environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and dedication to deepening understanding of work being done

Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
