Responsibilities:
- Own regulatory content: Develop, maintain, and publish product Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and label warning statements in compliance with applicable regulations using SAP EHS. Proactively manage regulatory data for substances and raw materials.
- Enable safe and compliant operations: Ensure Chem-Trend employees have timely access to the information they need to manage materials safely and compliantly.
- Support global chemical compliance: Help maintain compliance with chemical inventory and registration requirements through data verification and substance volume tracking.
- Navigate regulatory reporting: Support governmental reporting requirements, including TSCA 12(b) notifications and other applicable obligations.
- Partner with Technology: Work closely with Technology teams to assess new raw materials and developmental chemistry. Help identify chemical control, health, safety, environmental, compatibility, business, and customer considerations early in the development process.
- Be a customer resource: Respond to customer regulatory requests and questions with accurate, timely, and practical solutions.
- Stay ahead of change: Monitor emerging and evolving regulations, assess their impact on Chem-Trend, communicate requirements to stakeholders, and help implement compliant solutions within established deadlines.
- Protect confidential information: Support Confidential Business Information (CBI) applications when needed.
- Improve how we work: Lead process improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory records and documentation are maintained according to internal and external retention requirements.
- Build regulatory knowledge: Develop and maintain procedures and technical documentation, and provide training on regulatory topics as needed.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in product regulatory compliance and SDS authoring within the chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of regional chemical control regulations, hazard communication, dangerous goods classification, transportation regulations, and chemical compatibility.
- Experience with integrated compliance systems such as SAP EHS.
- Ability to obtain DOT, IATA, and IMO transportation certifications.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
