About this role

Come join Intuit’s QuickBooks engineering leadership team as a Director of Dev Ops. In this role, you will lead the operational excellence, modernization, data infrastructure, database engineering, and developer productivity agenda that enables QuickBooks to serve millions of customers and support scalable growth across Mid-Market and Multi-entity businesses.

You will balance revenue priorities with platform resilience, engineering velocity, and long-term modernization. This is a high-impact leadership role accountable for driving 99.99% availability across a large portfolio of business-critical assets, improving productivity and creating the operating model needed to support sustainable growth across QuickBooks offerings.

Responsibilities

- Proven experience leading large-scale engineering or development organizations responsible for business-critical platforms, operational excellence, reliability, modernization, and production health.
- Deep technical judgment across distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, data infrastructure, data engineering, transactional databases, schema design, database scaling, and platform operations.
- Experience leading reliability and availability programs at enterprise scale, including service-level objectives, incident management, observability, capacity planning, resiliency engineering, and modernization roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform transformation across complex product portfolios, legacy and modern systems, and cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, data aggregation patterns, data architecture, warehouse design, and the governance required to operate trusted data platforms.
- Experience transforming developer productivity through automation, AI-assisted development, CI/CD modernization, engineering enablement, quality systems, and scalable tooling.
- Ability to lead enterprise-wide operating-model change across multiple capabilities, teams, and technology assets, influencing leaders across Engineering, Product, Data, Design, Security, and Business Operations.
- Strong customer and business orientation, with the ability to connect platform health, engineering velocity, and modernization investments to customer outcomes, revenue impact, and growth.

- AI fluency and curiosity, including practical experience applying GenAI or agentic engineering concepts to improve engineering workflows, automation, testing, deployment, incident response, and developer effectiveness.
- A leadership style that builds high-performing, AI-fluent teams, develops managers and technical leaders, raises the bar on execution, and creates clarity across ambiguous, high-scale transformation work.

Qualifications

- Drive operational excellence across QuickBooks and IES by building the systems, mechanisms, and leadership routines required to achieve 99.99% availability across 500+ assets.
- Modernize QuickBooks platforms to support scalable growth for Mid-Market and Multi-entity customers across a broad portfolio of offerings.
- Lead data infrastructure and data engineering teams responsible for reliable data pipelines, aggregations, warehouse architecture, and the data foundations that power product, customer, and business decisions.
- Oversee database engineering and administration, including transactional schema design, database performance, scaling, availability, governance, and operational readiness.
- Transform developer and product excellence for developers through AI-assisted engineering, automation, shared platforms, productivity tooling, engineering standards, and measurable improvements to developer experience.
- Lead enterprise-wide change across L1 capabilities and Tier 1 and Tier 2 assets, creating alignment across teams and functions while reducing operational complexity.
- Drive the next generation of agentic engineering readiness by transforming CI/CD, outer-loop engineering, quality systems, deployment workflows, and automation across QuickBooks assets.
- Create clear operating mechanisms, metrics, and accountability systems that balance short-term revenue priorities with long-term platform health, resilience, modernization, and customer benefit.
- Partner deeply with Product, Design, Data, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and business leaders to prioritize investments, manage tradeoffs, and deliver outcomes tied to customer growth and business impact.
- Build and develop a leadership team that models technical depth, operational rigor, customer obsession, courageous decision-making, and strong cross-functional partnership.
