Role Overview

Cboe Global Markets is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Senior Risk Analyst to join its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, contributing to the organization’s strategically important risk culture and focus on organizational resilience. This role plays a key part in advancing Cboe’s commitment to strengthening its three lines, specifically maturing the organization’s second line ERM function.  The successful candidate will work closely with the first line and other risk management teams and Internal Audit to ensure that risks are properly identified, assessed, and managed.

Additionally, this role will assist in maturing risk-related Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) data, processes, and procedures that support the ERM program. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of risk management experience gained at a Systemically Important Financial Institution (SIFI) or Systemically Important Financial Market Utility (SIFMU), paired with hands-on proficiency in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tools. This role reports to the Senior Director, ERM.

Your responsibilities will be:

- Lead and significantly contribute to second line activities to drive the risk management framework and ongoing maintenance and maturity within the U.S.
- Collaborate with ERM leads, business units and function leaders, Internal Audit, and Compliance to enhance monitoring and reporting of risks by gathering data and assisting in the development of dashboards and risk metrics.
- Serve as an independent second line reviewer, providing effective challenge to first line business units on the identification, assessment and management of risks.
- Facilitate risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) across business units, evaluating risk ratings, control design and operating effectiveness, evidence sufficiency, and remediation plans, and recommending enhancements as needed.
- Review and challenge the classification, root cause analysis, remediation plans, and validation of self-identified issues, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
- Prepare risk information to support clear, well-supported risk reports, dashboards and presentations for senior leadership and risk committees.
- Maintain and enhance risk data within Cboe's GRC platform, supporting risk registers, RCSAs, Key Risk Indicators (KRI), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), incident linkage, and risk acceptances.
- Contribute to the ongoing maturation of Cboe's ERM framework by maturing procedures, risk manuals, job aids, and tools to assist both first and second line in the execution of risk management capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments and leading practices in enterprise and operational risk management, incorporating relevant insights into Cboe's risk framework.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance and other second-line and control functions to support an integrated, enterprise-wide approach to risk management.
- Facilitate adherence to internal risk policies and procedures and support risk culture and training initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate has

- Bachelor's degree; concentration in risk management, finance, business administration or a related field is a plus.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in operational or enterprise risk management, with a strong preference for experience gained at a Systemically Important Financial Institution (SIFI) or Systemically Important Financial Market Utility (SIFMU).
- Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of the principles of Enterprise risk management, control frameworks (e.g., COSO), RCSA methodology, risk metric development, and issue management.
- Hands-on experience using GRC tools and platforms (e.g., Onspring, Archer, ServiceNow GRC, etc.) to support risk reporting and governance activities.
- Proven ability to provide independent, credible challenge to first line risk owners and to influence risk decisions without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex risk information into clear, actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and in a role where differing points of view are common.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing information for risk reporting to senior management and risk committees.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong ethical values and ability to be a team player.
- Experience implementing or maturing GRC tools and/or operational or enterprise risk management frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment applicable to exchanges, clearinghouses or other financial market utilities (e.g., SEC, CFTC, Federal Reserve) is a plus.
