This is an on-site clinical leadership opportunity with a hospital seeking a manager for its Critical Care Unit and Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit. The role oversees clinical operations, nursing staff, staffing plans, and unit-level budget development while supporting safe, high-quality patient care. The manager will help ensure that nursing practice and unit operations align with applicable standards, regulations, and organizational goals. Candidates should bring substantial nursing experience, including supervisory leadership, and hold an active Nevada Registered Nurse license. The position is permanent.

Position Overview

Fusion HCR is seeking a Clinical Manager for the CCU/CVCU to manage one or more clinical units and guide nursing staff in delivering safe, effective patient care. The manager determines appropriate staffing levels to support organizational goals, participates in developing the unit budget, monitors compliance with applicable standards, and supervises nursing personnel. The role calls for experienced clinical leadership in a high-stress environment, with a focus on unit operations, staff oversight, and quality of care. The successful candidate will apply nursing knowledge and supervisory skills while working with staff and others across the hospital. Experience in cardiovascular critical care, including care of patients recovering from heart surgery, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the clinical and operational activities of the CCU/CVCU and support achievement of unit and organizational goals.
- Determine staffing needs, develop staffing plans, and assign and monitor the work of nursing staff.
- Supervise, train, and support staff while monitoring compliance with applicable clinical, safety, and accreditation standards.
- Participate in unit budget development and monitor budget-related activities.
- Apply nursing process principles, including assessment, care planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of patient care.
- Evaluate quality and performance, use data analysis to identify issues, and contribute to quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Promote safe practices relating to infection control, patient rights, emergency response, equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and others encountered in the course of unit operations.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
- Five years of clinical nursing experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role or higher. Candidates with four years in a nursing lead role may be considered if they have completed the required hospital management training class.
- Valid Nevada Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on the position, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP), or a specialty-area certification.
- Preferred: strong nurse leader or Clinical Manager experience, including prior supervision of at least 70 full-time-equivalent employees.
- Preferred: at least two years of CCU/CVCU nursing experience and three years of recent supervisory experience managing a cardiovascular coronary care unit at a similar facility.
- Preferred: experience recovering heart surgery patients, familiarity with Pathway to Excellence and Magnet standards, and the ability to lead through shared governance and operational demands in a high-stress environment.
