# Position Summary
The social media coordinator assists with planning, implementation, monitoring and measurement in support of the Department of Surgery's social media strategy, in order to increase brand awareness, build audience and drive engagement across departmental and university channels. A strong visual and aesthetic sense is required to ensure content aligns with institutional brand standards and departmental goals.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide tactical support for overall social media efforts, including daily maintenance of Department of Surgery social media channels. This may include writing, producing photo or video content and other creative approaches, working independently or in partnership with other staff. Maintain a high standard of visual quality, aesthetics and brand consistency.
- Monitor department social media channels for issues and trends, listening particularly for opportunities to proactively engage with audiences and identify content opportunities.
- Contribute to the execution of social media campaigns in support of overall strategic content goals, including promotion of clinical care, research and educational initiatives.
- Provide support for events, opportunities and campaigns that aim to drive engagement and increase audience growth on social media channels through photography, video and real-time content capture.
- Assist with coordination of production for Facebook Live and other digital content opportunities.

- Regular travel between Department of Surgery locations is required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- This position requires regular on-site presence and does not offer a remote work arrangement.
