Maintenance Lead – Industrial Maintenance

Charter Casting is looking for an experienced Maintenance Lead to help drive equipment reliability, support our maintenance team, and keep our manufacturing operations running at their best.
In this hands-on leadership role, you'll work alongside our maintenance team to prioritize repairs, improve equipment performance, and minimize downtime. You'll also partner closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate daily activities, support team development, and help lead the department when needed.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Team: Coordinate daily maintenance priorities, provide technical guidance, and help keep the team focused on safety, quality, and production goals.
- Keep Equipment Running: Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial machinery and production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Solve Complex Problems: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective repairs.
- Drive Improvements: Identify recurring equipment issues, recommend solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives that increase reliability and efficiency.
- Support Production: Coordinate equipment setups, tooling changes, machine installations, and equipment relocations to meet production schedules.
- Share Your Knowledge: Train, coach, and support maintenance teammates while serving as a technical resource for the department.
- Plan for Reliability: Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance, track parts needs, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Step Into Leadership: Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor on scheduling, communication, and department priorities, and provide leadership coverage when needed.
- Put Safety First: Promote safe work practices, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- Accredited maintenance apprenticeship, technical training with industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible industrial maintenance experience , or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, machine repair, and preventive maintenance skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, machine installation, welding, fabrication, and pipefitting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout and industrial safety practices.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain maintenance documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, collaborate across departments, and remain calm under pressure.
Even Better If You Have:
- Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring maintenance technicians.
- An Industrial Maintenance Technology degree.
- Experience maintaining equipment in a foundry, casting, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

The entry hourly rate for this position is $36.50 per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
