We are looking to add a Manufacturing Process Technician I to our team. If you are great at what you do, enjoy working in a startup environment, and are passionate about developing leading-edge hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems, we would like to hear from you.
 
As a Process Technician at Cesium Astro, you will be a key team member in ensuring the quality of our products meets our customer's expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-reliability industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, or Medical devices. This position will entail a broad scope of vital manufacturing functions. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and be capable and motivated to fix, repair and maintain a SMT circuit card and electronics final assembly shop. As we are a start-up the expectation is that we all wear many hats, and at times you may be asked to assist in additional duties such as performing cycle counts of inventory, assisting in shipping and receiving functions, or other tasks.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and products using engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.

- Perform advanced equipment setup, tooling changes, production adjustments, and troubleshooting to support manufacturing requirements.

- Resolve complex manufacturing and assembly issues while maintaining established quality, safety, and productivity standards.

- Perform advanced visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.

- Verify completed assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, workmanship requirements, and acceptance criteria.

- Document production, inspection, traceability, nonconformance, and corrective action infomation in manufacturing records.

- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams supporting complex production activities.

- Support new product introductions, equipment setup, process improvements, inventory accuracy, and continuous production flow.

- Mentor Manufacturing Technicians by providing guidance on assembly methods, manufacturing procedures, inspection techniques, and production practices.

- Apply manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies throughout production.

- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, manufacturing efficiency, and production performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Associate degree, technical certification, formal occupational training, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, electronics technology, mechanical technology, or a related technical field. 5–7 years of related experience in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related production operations.

- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, engineering drawings, and production practices.

- Advanced proficiency using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, manufacturing equipment, and inspection instruments.

- Comprehensive understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and safe manufacturing practices.

- Experience leading complex manufacturing operations while balancing quality, productivity, production schedules, and operational efficiency.

- Exercises sound judgment when resolving complex production issues and providing technical guidance to manufacturing teams.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

- Experience with manufacturing equipment, test equipment, and production systems used to support assembly and manufacturing operations.

- Proficency in manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, and electronic work instruction applications, e.g. Epicor, SAP, Solumina, or equivalent applications.
