Vehicle Registration Specialist 1

Job Summary
The Vehicle Registration Specialist 1 is an entry-level position in the DMV Centralization Unit. This position primarily provides administrative support to the DCU, including various clerical and administrative functions. Follows standard practices to prepare daily bank deposits, process reports and comply with retention guidelines. Must be able to perform in a fast-paced work environment, with a strong commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines. This position will complete ongoing training and skillset development onsite and offsite.

Job Duties
- Maintain office filing system. Print and review DMV reports. Daily reports include Office Collection, Password Security, Inventory Activity, Run Log, and Production Statistics reports per Branch. Communicate with Branch Management to obtain appropriate signatures. Purge reports from DMVA system. Maintain and follow retention guidelines.

- Perform administrative functions for DCU such as bookkeeping, prepare bank deposits, verify accuracy of bank deposits, resolve balancing discrepancies, reconcile DMV reports, file documents per retention guidelines.

- Ongoing skill set development- Collaborate with management and co-workers to develop cross functional knowledge. Attend required DMV off site trainings and perform practical application in a California Branch. Employee development areas include conflict resolution, adaptability, critical thinking, organizational skills, productivity, and time management.

- Mail distribution, receiving and shipping of courier bags, and other duties assigned by management
- Under the guidance of management, decisions are made by the procedures set in place at the DCU

Qualifications
- High School GED
- less than 1 year Administrative assistance or other clerical work experience. Preferred

- less than 1 year Previous experience in the Branch offices. Preferred
- General typing, Windows, Outlook, Internet/Intranet access skills required.

- Ability to complete Computer Based Training Courses as required.

- Ability to work in a Team environment.

- Knowledge of DMV procedures is preferred.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel to offsite business meetings or training. (10% proficiency)

The starting pay range for this position is:

$19.14 - $25.50
