About this role

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi is seeking a qualified Program Facilitator for the Circles Program. The Facilitator is a leader whose primary role is to work within the Circles program clients, mentors, and volunteers. The Facilitator has experience working with diverse socio-economic communities, knowledge of poverty/financial literacy education, has skills in community organizing and volunteer management, and an awareness of the social service resources in the community.

*This is a part-time position.

Ministerial Character:

The Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (The Diocese) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of corpus Christi in both professional and personal life

- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church

- Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed

- Reports directly to the Circles of the Coastal Bend Coordinator

- Collaborate to provide unique data to the region

- Advocate for the current needs of the Circle Leaders of each cohort

- Assist with data collection and input of data into the Circles USA data system

- Support with maintenance and completion of the Circles commitment forms

- Relationship management focus is within the Circles community (Leaders, Allies, and Volunteers) and dismissing participants who do not maintain commitment to the chapter

- Meeting with Leaders/Allies and connecting them to members of the Resource Teams

- Training oversight for the chapter:
Under the direction of the Circles of the Coastal Bend Coordinator, support the Training Facilitator for the Circles Leaders and ensure training compliance
Fill in for the in-person Circle Leader training if the Training Facilitator is unavailable
Assist the Big View Team in coordinating the monthly Big View meetings

- Conduct interviews and select potential Circle Leaders and Allies (focus should be largely on Leaders while the coordinator will focus more on Allies)

- Support the Coastal Bend Circles Coordinator with maintaining accurate registration of Circle Leaders and Allies

Mental/Physical Demands:

- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more

- Ability to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stress

- Must maintain confidentiality

- Frequent travel within the region

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Associate degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Personal Finance Education or related field experience with individuals of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, financial literacy, lived experience with poverty currently living in middle/high economic status

- Knowledge of local community resources

- Strong computer skills; including Microsoft Office, client record management systems

- Effective organizational and time management skills

- Valid Texas State Drivers License, vehicle insurance coverage and a good driving record

- Strong communicator, both verbal and written

- Ability to understand and respect cultural differences

- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated (often in the field)

- A flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Circles community

Additional Requirements:

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred

- Must successfully complete criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening

- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is required
