Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Manager Program Planning and Scheduling 3 to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
This leadership role has frequent interactions with internal and external executives. The successful candidate must demonstrate consistently sound judgment and exemplify Northrop Grumman Values and Leadership Behaviors. The role operates in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative, cross-functional teams, including geographically dispersed team members.
What You Will Get To Do:
Own the program planning and scheduling process
- Develop, maintain, implement, and continuously improve EVMS-compliant program scheduling processes across all program BU/Segment operations and all phases of the lifecycle, from early investment through sustainment and deactivation
Serve as P6 and program planning SME
- Act as the subject matter expert for program planning and scheduling tools, with a primary focus on Oracle Primavera P6
Lead and develop the planning and scheduling team consisting of managers and analysts by supporting:
- Digital transformation and tool optimization
- Training and development for program support personnel
- Proposal and strategy support
- Program planning and scheduling activities in support of monthly IPMDAR generation
- Process development and training
- Provide daily guidance and troubleshooting to the Sentinel scheduling organization
Drive compliance, metrics, and continual improvement
- Ensure scheduling implementation meets internal and external reporting and compliance requirements
- Establish and leverage schedule metrics and analytics to drive process excellence and continuous improvement
Support program execution through proactive partnerships and Earned Value Management
- Ensure planning and scheduling products satisfy evolving programmatic requirements
- Partner with cross-functional leadership (e.g., engineering, operations, finance, contracts) to ensure successful and compliant schedule management across the program
- Advise segment and program business managers on integrating project schedules with Earned Value Management.
- Support internal and external reviews and audits, including preparation of artifacts and responses to findings
This is an on-site role with minimal travel requirements.
You Will Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance or a related field with 8 years of related experience; 6 years with a master's degree; or 12 years of related experience may be accepted with a HS Diploma (or equivalent) in lieu of a degree
- 4 or more years’ experience and hands-on expertise working with Oracle Primavera P6
- Demonstrated experience leading planning/scheduling teams on complex, large-scale programs
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and EVMS-compliant scheduling practices
- 6 or more years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Direct experience with people leadership that includes performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Requires US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience on large-scale Department of Defense / aerospace & defense programs
- Prior leadership experience at the manager-of-managers level (leading leaders and analysts)
- Direct experience with IPMDAR reporting and associated schedule deliverables
- Experience driving digital transformation or tool optimization initiatives in planning/scheduling
- Executive presence and comfort in communications at that level
- Experience building strong customer relationships
- Subject matter expert with Oracle Primavera P6
- Experience interacting with DCMA in EVMS Audits/Reviews
- Experience ensuring Cost / Schedule integration

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
