Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clinical Lab Scientist, you will be instrumental in unraveling medical mysteries, providing crucial diagnostic insights that directly impact patient treatment and recovery.
Every day, you will perform complex technical analyses across various laboratory disciplines, meticulously verifying results for accuracy and quality assurance. You will operate and maintain sophisticated instrumentation and collaborate closely with laboratory leadership to uphold the highest standards of practice and patient care.

- Performs clinical laboratory tests according to the standards of this laboratory in one or more areas for which proper training has been made available. Works independently, but seeks help from colleagues, supervisor, or pathologists as appropriate.
- Demonstrates ability to use independent judgment, but recognizes limits of own knowledge and experience and defers to more experienced technologists when appropriate. Is able to perform infrequently performs tests by utilizing procedur emanuals.
- To ensure high-quality patient care, confirms that quality control and calibration criteria are met before results are issued.Follows quality control out-of-range protocol and documents obtained values including proper explanations and correctiveactions taken.
- Responsible for prompt and accurate performance and reporting of all work assigned within established turn-around times. Works consistently and demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work to maximize productivity and the quality of patient care. Demonstrates the ability to work well in high volume and STAT conditions.
- Keeps up to date with new procedures and instrumentation. Performs routine maintenance of instruments in assigned work areas. Documents equipment malfunctions including remedial procedures taken and notifies supervisory and other personnel as appropriate.
- Recognizes erroneous, inconsistent, redundant, or questionable specimens and/or results and promptly takes corrective action or seeks
Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
- Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) required.
- A current Los Angeles County fire card is required.
