Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is a high-achieving and innovative school for young women, catering for day and boarding students from Year 7 to Year 13.

About the Role

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is seeking enthusiastic and committed coaches to join our 2027 Summer and Winter Sports programmes. We are looking for coaches who are passionate about developing young athletes and creating positive sporting experiences.

We are seeking coaches across:

Term 1 & Term 4 2027

- Volleyball

- Water Polo

- Cricket

Term 2 & Term 3 2027

- Netball

- Hockey

- Football

- Basketball

Roles vary depending on the sport and team and may include weekly training sessions, competition games, school exchanges and tournaments.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging and purposeful training sessions.

- Coach teams at competition fixtures, exchanges and tournaments as required.

- Support the technical, tactical and personal development of student-athletes.

- Foster a positive, inclusive and enjoyable team culture.

- Communicate effectively with players, team management and the Sport Department.

- Promote positive sportsmanship and uphold the values and expectations of the Rangi Ruru Sport Programme.

- Contribute to a consistent athlete experience through the implementation of the Rangi Ruru Sport Development Framework.

Our Sport Development Framework guides our approach across all sports, focusing on strong fundamentals, positive athlete habits and purposeful training. This provides consistency for athletes as they transition between teams, year levels and sporting programmes.

Coaches are supported by the Rangi Ruru Sport staff and have opportunities to participate in coach development sessions, workshops and observations throughout the year.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced coaches and aspiring coaches who are keen to develop their coaching knowledge and experience.

Commencing: Various start dates throughout 2027 depending on the sporting season.
