About this role

West Coast Wound & Skin Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Podiatrist to join our growing mobile clinical team in the Los Angeles area. This position is ideal for a podiatrist who enjoys providing hands-on patient care while working collaboratively with wound care providers and other healthcare professionals.
The Mobile Podiatrist will evaluate and treat patients with a variety of foot and lower-extremity conditions, with a particular focus on diabetic foot complications, chronic wounds, ulcers, infections, nail disorders, and other conditions affecting mobility and lower-extremity health.
This is a field-based position that allows you to provide care where patients need it most—primarily in their homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other appropriate care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive podiatric evaluations and examinations.
- Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.
- Evaluate and manage diabetic foot conditions and complications.
- Assess and treat foot and lower-extremity wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and other chronic wounds.
- Perform appropriate in-office/mobile podiatric procedures, including: Routine and medically necessary nail care
- Debridement of nails, calluses, and appropriate tissue
- Management of corns and calluses
- Wound-related podiatric procedures within scope of practice
- Other appropriate minor procedures based on patient needs and clinical expertise

- Identify patients at risk for diabetic foot complications, infection, ulceration, and limb-threatening conditions.
- Provide preventive foot care and patient education.
- Assess circulation, sensation, skin integrity, and other factors affecting lower-extremity health.
- Collaborate with wound care providers, primary care providers, nurses, home health agencies, facility staff, and other members of the patient’s care team.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Make referrals to vascular surgery, orthopedics, infectious disease, or other specialists when clinically indicated.
- Provide recommendations regarding footwear, offloading, pressure reduction, and prevention of recurrent wounds.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Accurately document patient evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and facility staff.
- Participate in coordinated wound care and multidisciplinary patient management.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine ( DPM ) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted California Podiatric Medical Board license .
- Current DEA registration, as applicable to the position.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible preferred.
- Experience in wound care, diabetic foot management, limb preservation, or lower-extremity care preferred.
- Experience working with medically complex or geriatric patients preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a mobile/field-based environment.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned Los Angeles territory.
