About this role
Residential Program Specialist: Part Time + Relief (RPS)
Mountain Home is seeking Residential Program Specialists (RPS) who support the daily operation, safety, structure, & consistency of Mountain Home’s Residential Program. This position supports a safe, predictable, trauma-informed living environment for residents & their children by maintaining an active staff presence, carrying out assigned residential responsibilities, reinforcing established household expectations, completing required checks & documentation, & communicating clearly across shifts.
Our ideal RPSs have a passion and talent for helping others, communicating clearly and compassionately, and are able to connect and empathize with individuals, including diverse and marginalized populations. They remain calm in high-stress situations and encounters. They are trustworthy, dependable, relatable, and friendly. RPSs have knowledge of trauma-informed care, adverse childhood experiences, and experience in providing quality direct service to adults, young people, and children. We prefer individuals who have received education in social work, psychology, counseling, early childhood, or similar programs and/or who have been through relevant training.

- Monitor shared residential areas & respond to household or facility needs that arise during the shift.
- Support residents in completing household responsibilities while promoting increasing independence.
- Coach, prompt, & follow through with residents rather than routinely completing responsibilities residents can reasonably complete themselves.

RPSs working weekend and overnight shifts are reponsible for the following:
- Remain awake, alert, available, & responsive throughout the entire overnight shift.

- Maintain awareness of who is in the residence, who is expected to return, & any relevant resident, child, safety, or follow-up needs.
- Maintain an active staff presence in the residential program throughout the overnight.
- Complete scheduled overnight building, safety, & residential-area checks.
- Respond appropriately to resident & child needs that arise overnight while maintaining professional boundaries & established program expectations.
- Respond to safety, behavioral, facility, or other concerns according to Mountain Home procedures & established escalation structures.
- Complete assigned overnight cleaning, household, organizational, plant-care, & operational responsibilities without reducing required resident supervision or staff availability.
- Address overnight responsibilities & concerns when they can reasonably be handled during the shift rather than routinely leaving them for incoming staff.
- Prepare the residential program for an organized transition into the morning shift.
- Provide a clear handover to incoming staff, including relevant resident & child information, who is home or expected back, safety concerns, incidents, outstanding responsibilities, & required follow-up.
