About this role

What you will do:

The Rec Room’s Hourly Supervisor / Bartender / Server is an integral part of the team, delivering exceptional entertainment and dining experience to every guest. This role blends leadership, guest service, and hands-on food and beverage service in a fast‑paced, high-energy environment. Team members are passionate about entertainment, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences while supporting daily operations across the venue.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Leadership & Operations

- Execute Groups & Events within the venue while providing seamless, high-quality guest service
- Support the smooth operation of games, amusement areas, coat check, retail, bar, and service floor
- Provide direction, coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members across assigned areas (Bar, Service Floor, Host/Call Centre, Amusement, Events / Live Entertainment)
- Drive sales performance while adhering to established budgets and cost controls
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operational checklists in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Maintain payroll and attendance records in compliance with legislative and company requirements
- Ensure all gaming, service, and operational initiatives are executed to support financial performance and guest satisfaction
- Follow and enforce all provincial Health, Food Safety, and Liquor Service legislation
- Perform other duties as assigned

Server Responsibilities

- Deliver end-to-end table service, including proper table set-up, greeting guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, serving items promptly, and processing payments
- Maintain strong knowledge on the menu, including daily features and promotions
- Clear tables efficiently while balancing speed with guest comfort
- Maintain cleanliness of the service area, including restocking cutlery, linens, condiments, and supplies
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service that enhances the guest experience

Bartender Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, cocktails, and specialty drinks
- Take and fulfill beverage orders accurately while operating the POS system
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- Monitor bar inventory, restock supplies, and assist with ordering as required
- Promote responsible alcohol service by checking guest identification, monitoring intoxication levels, and refusing service when necessary
- Ensure a safe and welcoming bar environment at all times

Qualifications:

The Rec Room may be a perfect fit for you if:

- You have 1–3 years of supervisory, server, and/or bartending experience in food service, retail, or entertainment (training experience is an asset)
- You are legally of age to serve alcohol in a licensed venue
- You possess a provincially applicable alcohol service certification (e.g., Smart Serve or equivalent)
- You have strong leadership, communication, guest service, and conflict-resolution skills
- You thrive in a fast-paced, social, and high-volume environment
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- You are comfortable working flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- You have a solid working knowledge of restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue operations
