DIVISION SUMMARY

CPC Education and Career Services (ECS) provides dynamic programs and activities that bridge youth and adults with their highest educational, economic and leadership potential. ECS believes it is never too early or too late to start learning, which is why an asset-based approach is used to maximize clients current strengths. Whether in schools, community centers, or internship sites, ECS creates equitable learning environments that promote leadership development, self-advocacy, and community building. ECS programs equip clients with essential skills and experiences today so that they are empowered to take the next step tomorrow.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

NDA After-School Program offers youth participants a wide range of enrichment of workshops to promote lifelong skills needed to succeed academically, socially, and professionally. These workshops include but not limited to academic tutoring, college and work readiness, leadership development, guest speaker series, mentoring opportunities, and recreational activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the instructor will:

- Develop and facilitate informative and interactive workshops to related positive, holistic youth development

- Coordinate the scheduling of guest speakers, community services opportunities and field trips (e.g., college visits, recreational activities) within program guidelines

- Provide support in overseeing homework help and tutoring services

- Fulfill other related duties as assigned by the Program Director

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

College student preferred

Prior tutoring experience, especially with the high school youth population

Skills and Competencies:

Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for youth development

Fluency in Arabic/Chinese/Spanish is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW

$18.90 - $20.00 per hour; 10 - 15 hours per week

CPC offers eligible part-time staff members mandatory benefits, including paid New York State sick time
