Key Responsibilities

Take over accounting from our external provider and build robust in-house processes, including month-end and year-end close Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102 and manage VAT returns (Making Tax Digital, import VAT), coordinating with external accountants, auditors, payroll and tax advisers Deliver monthly group reporting to the German parent company, including the mapping of UK GAAP to German GAAP (HGB), and manage intercompany reconciliations and transfer pricing support Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses; own product costing, standard costs and inventory valuation Monitor cash flow and liquidity and support working capital management Oversee operational purchasing and EU import processes (customs, EORI, rules of origin) for the UK site, acting as the local contact for the central procurement team in Germany Support the ERP implementation as UK Finance Key User, from requirements, master data and testing through to internal controls, data migration and user training Act as a trusted business partner to the UK Managing Director on pricing, cost control and commercial decisions, and translate group requirements into practical local processes

Basic Qualification

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience with a strong track record Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role within a subsidiary of an international group Solid understanding of inventory accounting and product costing Experience of running month-end and preparing year-end accounts under FRS 102 Hands-on knowledge of UK VAT, including import VAT Advanced Excel skills and confidence with accounting and ERP systems Comfortable working in a small team where you are both strategic and hands-on Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-finance colleagues

Desired Experience

Experience of purchasing processes in a stock-holding or manufacturing environment Experience of reporting into an overseas parent company, ideally German-owned Knowledge of post-Brexit customs procedures

Location

This role will be based in Glasgow, Scotland. This position requires availability to travel frequently to our facilities in Neuenstadt am Kocher, Germany or our test and launch facilities in Europe, including at short notice and for extended periods, in line with company needs.
