About this role
In this role, your analytical work will go beyond traditional consulting advisory. You will apply insurance domain knowledge and actuarial judgement while leveraging on WTW’s market-leading actuarial software to produce tailored solutions to our insurance clients.
As part of our regional consulting team, you will gain broad exposure through working on a variety of projects across different actuarial domains, and with different insurance clients from different markets.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with consultants and project managers on a variety of life/health insurance client projects, including financial modelling, valuation and capital, merger and acquisitions and IFRS 17 etc.
- Develop and build actuarial models using WTW’s market-leading software and apply actuarial techniques to deliver tailored, value-added solutions for our clients.
- Produce, analyse, explain and communicate results and findings, working closely with project managers/leads and other team members to ensure high-quality work is delivered efficiently within established timelines and budgets.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, elevate work quality, and actively pursue continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Manage time and workload efficiently across multiple concurrent projects while meeting billable hour targets.
- Support client communications and build trusted advisor relationships through quality execution.
- Assist project manager with project management and workstream coordination, including project planning and tracking progress against agreed objectives, budgets, timelines, and deliverables, to meet or exceed client expectations
- Collaborate seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary, cross-functional team to tackle complex client challenges and deliver insightful advice and solutions.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools, analytics and automation solutions to improve efficiency, quality and scalability of actuarial modelling, analysis, reporting and project delivery
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a relevant quantitative field
- Fresh grads, or experienced hires of up to 2 years of actuarial experience.
- Good progress in actuarial exams with a recognised International actuarial body (e.g. IFoA, SOA, IOAA)
- Demonstrate a digital-first mindset and embrace emerging technologies, including AI, automation and advanced analytics, to support actuarial modelling, consulting and project delivery.
- Ability to critically assess, validate and appropriately apply outputs generated from AI and analytical tools while maintaining professional judgement and actuarial standards.
- Basic programming or data analytics skills (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Power BI, VBA or similar tools) would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Understanding of life/health insurance business and market landscape
- Prior experience with WTW’s software (eg. RiskAgility Financial Modeller, Unify, DataValidator) is a plus
- Good time management skills, and able to manage time effectively across multiple concurrent projects
