Key Responsibilities
- Develop the monthly unconstrained (RDD) demand plan for volume and revenue across the 24-month IBP planning horizon for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Improve the unconstrained demand forecast by working collaboratively with stakeholders to support differentiated business forecasting strategies and enrich the demand plan.
- Generate demand scenarios as needed based on business requirements.
- Analyze demand-plan performance and monitor demand metrics to identify root causes of forecast underperformance.
- Conduct regular demand data-quality audits and ensure manually maintained demand data is accurate, including samples, R&D products, and forecast-item creation and deactivation.
- Continuously improve the demand forecasting process.
- Support the weekly Demand/Supply Reconciliation (DSR) process by identifying and highlighting potential issues in the operational supply plan, including month-to-date performance, forecast consumption, abnormal demand, and supply upsets.
- Monitor month-to-date performance and forecast consumption, including sales orders versus plan, to identify deviations between IBP cycles.
- Work with Commercial, Supply, and Customer Service teams to determine root causes and assess whether significant mid-cycle changes to the plan are required.
- Partner with the Master Planner to ensure all requirements, regardless of product lifecycle stage, are included in the forecast and correctly translated into supply requirements.
- Prepare for and support Demand Reviews, and document changes and assumptions in the demand plan for appropriate stakeholders.
- Support development of the cross-functional extended five-year forecast for long-term planning.
- Support weekly DSR meetings.
- Facilitate issues related to Multi View Forecasting tools, and collect and load forecast inputs monthly.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or another undergraduate degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in Demand Planning or Supply Planning.
- 3-5 years of experience in field sales or account management, customer-facing planning such as VMI, DRP, or finished goods planning, Customer Service, or Marketing.
Training and Certifications
- OMP certification: required and may be obtained while in the role.
- Institute of Business Forecasting: Certified Professional Forecaster training, Modules 1, 2, and 3, with successful completion of the test.
- IBF Advanced Professional Forecaster, Modules 4, 5, and 6: optional.
- ASCM CPIM: optional and may be obtained while in the role.
