The appointee will manage a broad portfolio of governance, administrative and operational functions within INDT. The role will work closely with the SP Chief Data Officer to drive data governance, IM8 and Whole-of-Government compliance; oversee data-sharing requests; managing departmental budgets and records; and leading secretariat and coordination support for management committees and IT Disaster Recovery activities. The appointee will also identify and implement digitalisation and process improvements through the effective adoption of Whole-of-Government productivity and automation tools.
[What you will be working on]
- Partner the SP Chief Data Officer in driving data governance and Whole-of-Government compliance, providing sound advice to stakeholders on requirements, risks and appropriate controls.
- Oversee inter-agency data-sharing requests and engage Data Owners and stakeholders to ensure robust, compliant and timely review and approval.
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of data governance standards, templates, guidance and knowledge resources aligned with organisational and Whole-of-Government requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, records and information governance, exercising oversight of budget performance, access controls, filing structures and compliance obligations.
- Lead secretariat and coordination support for management meetings, committees and IT Disaster Recovery activities, ensuring decisions, risks and follow-up actions are properly documented and tracked to completion.
- Identify, evaluate and implement digitalisation and process improvements using Whole-of-Government productivity and automation tools, while guiding stakeholders in effective adoption.
[What we are looking for]
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in data governance, IT governance, corporate administration, project coordination or a related function, preferably with demonstrated ownership of complex initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong working knowledge of data governance, data-sharing, information management, compliance and risk-management principles, with the ability to apply them in complex operational settings.
- Demonstrated experience in budget administration, records management, secretariat support and the coordination of management committees or cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues and drive actions to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence, facilitate discussions and explain governance and compliance requirements clearly.
- Meticulous, self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while building effective working relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
