This is a freelance opportunity, with shifts offered based on programming and business requirements.

About the Role

iRadio is looking for a talented and engaging Freelance Presenter to join our team and bring great energy, personality and entertainment to our listeners across the Northeast and Northwest.

We’re looking for a confident broadcaster who understands the iRadio audience, has a strong on-air presence and can create entertaining, relevant and engaging radio content. You’ll be comfortable working independently, contributing ideas and jumping into the iRadio sound and style.

What You’ll Do

- Present live and/or pre-recorded radio programmes across iRadio.

- Deliver engaging, entertaining and audience-focused content that reflects the iRadio brand.

- Prepare and research content, features, links and talking points ahead of broadcasts.

- Respond naturally and confidently to changing stories, audience interaction and live situations.

- Engage with listeners through calls, messages, social media and other platforms.

- Work closely with producers and the wider programming team to develop creative and relevant content.

- Support station promotions, competitions, commercial features and outside broadcasts where required.

- Maintain a strong awareness of current affairs, entertainment, music, local stories and topics relevant to the iRadio audience.

- Contribute ideas that help grow audience engagement across on-air and digital platforms.

- Ensure all content meets iRadio and Bauer Media Audio standards and relevant broadcasting requirements.

What You’ll Have:

- Has previous radio presenting or broadcasting experience.

- Has a confident, warm and engaging on-air personality.

- Understands how to connect with an audience and tell a great story.

- Is creative, curious and comfortable generating their own content ideas.

- Has excellent communication and interviewing skills.

- Is confident working in a live broadcast environment and able to think quickly on their feet.

- Has a strong understanding of the iRadio audience and the local communities we serve.

- Is reliable, organised and comfortable working as part of a busy programming team.

- Has a good understanding of social media and how on-air content can translate to digital platforms.

- Is flexible and available to work across different shifts and cover requirements as needed.
