Senior Manager, Alliance and Collaborations Accounting – Cork

The Position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Alliance and Collaborations Accounting to join our team in Cork, working within the broader U.S. Controllership organization.

Reporting to the Alliance and Collaborations Director , this role will work closely with a wide range of cross-functional business partners to support the accounting, control, and reporting activities of the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the quality and accuracy of information reported in both regional and consolidated financial statements, as well as management reporting packages, through the development of strong collaborative relationships across the business.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional looking to broaden their technical accounting expertise while gaining exposure to complex accounting operations and supporting disclosures included in SEC filings. The role provides significant interaction with cross-functional teams and multiple levels of management .

Essential Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end alliance and collaboration accounting and reporting process

- Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities for assigned accounts (e.g. journal entries, account reconciliations, royalty payments, etc.)
- Analyze and prepare and/or review variance explanations
- Prepare and/or review external filing and management reporting schedules

Review and on-board new collaboration arrangements and manage the accounting for day-to-day collaboration related financial activities, including milestone payments, cost sharing, royalties, and other contractual rights and obligations

Work closely with cross-functional teams including Alliance Management, FP&A, Corporate Development, Technical Accounting, Legal and various internal/external business partners .

Manage accounting issues on complex collaboration arrangements and communicate effectively and timely.

Coordinate and manage internal/external audits and balance sheet reviews.

Support the preparation and/or review of the budget/forecast.

Lead, execute or support various ad hoc projects/initiatives.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Qualifications & Experience

- Extensive accounting experience.
- Big 4 trained.
- Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification or equivalent.
- BA or BSc degree (or international equivalent) in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Experience working within a multinational organization.
- Experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Technical & Professional Skills

- Strong technical accounting expertise, including knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Proven ability to evaluate and interpret complex arrangements and integrate related activities.
- Excellent attention to detail with a highly organized and thorough approach.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated track record of success across different business environments.
- Proficiency with financial systems such as Alliant, Oracle/SAP, and Hyperion is preferred.
- Hands-on operational experience in collaboration and alliance arrangements is preferred.
