## Purpose & Scope of Position

The Planning Engineer is responsible for the delivery of project planning and progress measurement, ensuring that TCE’s procedures and best practices are applied, as appropriate, and recommending changes to the Project Controls Manager where required. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the project master schedule to meet the project objectives.
## Experience

• Working knowledge of engineering, project control systems and construction management. • 2+ years of relevant experience as a planner in a multi discipline project environment • Knowledge in the use of Primavera Project Planner and MS Office package
## Qualification

• Postgraduate or graduate in an engineering discipline • Professional Project Management Certification (preferable from PMI) or Post Graduate degree in Project Engineering and Management or Post Graduate degree in Advanced Construction Management
## Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling
• Develop, monitor, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project. Schedule
time analysis, constraints, available work fronts, resources, KPIs, "S" curve, resource
histogram etc.
• Prepare design delivery schedules, milestone charts, and resource allocation plans.
• Define project work breakdown structure (WBS) and align with departmental deliverables.
• Coordinate input from engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation,
etc.).
2. Project Management & Coordination
• Act as the single point of contact for project planning, progress reporting, and risk
management.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings, design reports, and documents as per project schedule.
• Facilitate design review meetings and progress review sessions with internal teams and
clients. Identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions
• Track progress against schedules such as weekly, Monthly progress reports and dashboards,
Critical path report, Area of concern, look-ahead plan and S-curve.
3. Commercial & Contractual
• Support proposal and tendering teams in preparing project schedules, man-hour estimates,
and deliverable plans.
• Assist in change management, variation claims, and extension of time (EOT) Claim schedule
analysis, Delay analysis of subcritical & critical activities.
• Monitor project budgets and control engineering man-hours utilization.
4. Quality & Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to project quality and documentation standards.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for compliance with ISO and internal design procedures.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management
• Interface with clients for schedule reviews, deliverable updates, and milestone approvals.
• Manage external interfaces with vendors, sub-consultants, and contractors as applicable
