Key Responsibilities
Farmer Development & Extension Activities
- Identify and enroll new farmers for oil palm cultivation in the assigned area.
- Conduct regular farmer visits and provide technical guidance on nursery management, planting, irrigation, nutrition, and pest & disease management.
- Organize field demonstrations, farmer meetings, awareness programs, and training sessions.
- Build strong relationships with farmers and local community stakeholders.
Plantation Monitoring
- Monitor plantation establishment and maintenance activities.
- Ensure recommended agronomic practices are followed by farmers.
- Track plantation growth, survival rates, and productivity.
- Assist farmers in resolving crop-related issues promptly.
Area Expansion
- Identify potential villages and farmers for oil palm expansion.
- Achieve annual plantation and area expansion targets.
- Coordinate with government departments and local authorities for plantation development programs.
Data Collection & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of farmer details, plantation area, and crop performance.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.
- Update field data in prescribed software/applications.
- Monitor FFB harvesting schedules and yield information.
Farmer Service & Support
- Facilitate timely supply of quality planting material, fertilizers, and other inputs.
- Support implementation of company schemes and farmer welfare initiatives.
- Address farmer grievances and coordinate for resolution.
Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure adherence to company policies and agronomic standards.
- Coordinate with processing units, field staff, and support teams.
- Support sustainability and quality improvement initiatives.
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Tech Agriculture Engineering / Diploma in Agriculture
- Any equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related disciplines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New plantation area achieved (acres/hectares).
- Number of farmers enrolled.
- Plantation survival percentage.
- Farmer engagement and training programs conducted.
- FFB production and productivity improvement.
- Accuracy and timeliness of field reports.
- Farmer satisfaction and grievance resolution.
Working Conditions
- Extensive field travel across villages and plantations.
- Interaction with farmers, government officials, and local stakeholders.
- Outdoor work in varied climatic conditions.
