As a Mgr Software Engineering in Pune, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!

Job Summary:

Manages the activities of one or more software systems development function or software applications development function. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manages and directs ACI's development resources in accordance with corporate and division goals and objectives. Instructs and guides staff to maximize their technical, managerial, and corporate growth and development. Provides feedback and completes performance appraisals. Develops annual staff salary, training plans, and reports on the status of the staff and projects.
- Works with senior management to set the technical direction for company products and services. Leads and guides the development and maintenance products and services ensuring that they align with the company’s strategic and business plans.
- Manages product security including product risk reduction, compliance, product security training, product security software development lifecycle, and security architecture.
- Leads interaction with internal and external organizations and individuals to ensure appropriate information exchange, with the goal of properly developing the staff and successfully completing assigned projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of software development and/or design experience.
- 5+ years of direct management or leadership experience, including staff performance management and development.
- Proven ability to set technical direction and align development efforts with business and strategic goals.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent software development projects and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including secure development practices.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in software development (e.g., AI-assisted coding tools, intelligent automation, or AI-driven product features).
- Ability to evaluate and guide adoption of AI-based tools and technologies to improve team productivity and product capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, resource planning, and staff development (training plans, performance appraisals).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with both technical staff and senior leadership.
- Ability to guide, mentor, and grow technical talent within a team.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job:

- Experience managing software development teams in the payments, fintech, or financial services industry.
- Working knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices, product security architecture, and risk/compliance frameworks.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and managing distributed or cross-functional development teams.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software architecture (microservices, APIs).
- Strong track record of managing staff performance, career development, and succession planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising between technical teams and senior leadership.
- Prior experience contributing to or owning technical roadmaps aligned with business strategy.

AI-Enabled Engineering & Delivered AI Projects (Must-Have)

- Lead delivery of AI-enabled initiatives in two dimensions: AI-accelerated SDLC (planning, code review, test generation, documentation, defect reduction), and
- AI/ML/GenAI solution delivery where AI is part of the shipped product or operational capability.

- Establish responsible AI usage practices: teams are encouraged to use AI, but remain accountable for outputs; validate correctness, security, and maintainability before merging.
- Enforce safe prompting and data handling: never place secrets/credentials/PCI/PII into prompts; use placeholders and abstractions.

Work Environment:

- Standard work environment
- Some limited Travel required, may be domestic or international
