MacGregor – Let's shape the future together
We are looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of our bulk ship product portfolio. In this role, you will define product strategy, optimize the product's total costs and drive competitiveness across the entire product lifecycle. This position combines technical expertise with sales attitude. You are working directly with shipyards, internal cross-functional teams globally and shipowners.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term product roadmap based on market trends, shipyard requirements and customer feedback
- Act as the product expert in discussions with shipowners, shipyards, and design offices
- Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Sales and Sourcing to optimize design costs, pricing strategies and value propositions
- Support major claim resolutions in coordination with Contract Management and feed technical solutions back into product design improvements
- Provide technical direction, guidance and training to global service teams to maximize aftermarket capture
This position is based in Kaarina, Finland and you will be part of a team consisting of six persons. You are reporting to the Director Engineering.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you need a strong technical background with a commercial mindset. You are proactive, client-oriented and you have the ability to influence cross-functional teams in an international environment. Success relies on your capacity to translate complex customer feedback into innovative, profitable product developments while remaining comfortable with global travel.
Ideally you have
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical field (a business, commercial or product management background is a plus)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the marine or maritime industry
- Commercial mindset with proven ability to balance technical engineering requirements with product profitability
- Customer oriented attitude with good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in an international contex
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems and product strategic planning
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in English and Finnish, both spoken and written
