About this role
Introduction
The IT & Data department at ASML enables secure, reliable, and compliant technology solutions that support the business worldwide. Within this department, you will join the COCKPIT program, a team responsible for strengthening and deploying an integrated IT control framework across the organization. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale transformation that connects IT risk management, cyber security, and compliance. Rather than working on theoretical assessments, you will help improve controls that support secure and effective IT operations. Your assignment
In this role, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the integrated IT control framework. You will work closely with stakeholders across IT, risk, assurance, and cyber security to understand how risks are translated into controls and how organizations demonstrate compliance and security. You will contribute to a real transformation program while developing practical knowledge of IT controls, risk management, and cyber security. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Collaborate with IT teams, risk specialists, assurance teams, cyber security professionals, and other stakeholders across the organization.
- Support the analysis, documentation, and implementation of IT and cyber security controls.
- Assist with control testing activities, evidence collection, and control assessments.
- Analyze control gaps, findings, and recurring issues and help identify practical improvements.
- Map risks, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements to measurable controls.
- Contribute to reporting and dashboards that support insight and decision-making.
- Explore opportunities to simplify, improve, or automate controls and monitoring activities.
This is a master's internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days on-site) . The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
- Are pursuing a master's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Cyber Security, Accountancy, Auditing, Risk Management, Business Information Management, or a related field.
- Have an interest in IT audit and assurance, cyber security, IT controls, risk management, or compliance.
- Enjoy working with different stakeholders and building effective working relationships.
- Are collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
- Have strong analytical skills and can translate information into clear conclusions.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of frameworks or standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SOx, or NIS2 is considered an advantage but is not required.

Other requirements you need to meet:
- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship;
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);
- You attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
- You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your application shows the willingness to relocate.
