Job Description

Enable the execution of Global Markets Africa Regions strategic priorities by translating approved strategic direction into integrated execution plans across multiple African markets. Working within the mandate established by the Strategy Enablement Lead and executive management, coordinate complex strategic initiatives, provide commercial and performance insights, and maintain governance over deliverables, decisions, risks and dependencies. Partner with senior business, country and functional stakeholders to strengthen execution discipline, improve business performance and inform management decision-making across the Global Markets Africa Regions franchise.

Strategy execution and performance management

Translate approved GMAR strategic priorities into integrated execution plans, measurable outcomes, milestones and governance routines across countries, products and client segments. Monitor progress, identify delivery gaps and escalate material risks with clear recommendations.

Strategic and commercial analysis

Conduct structured analysis of market, client, competitor, regulatory and macroeconomic developments to identify strategic opportunities, risks and implications for the GMAR franchise.

Market opportunity and business-performance assessment

Support market sizing, market-share analysis, revenue forecasting, business reviews and performance assessments. Evaluate performance across countries, products and client segments and provide evidence-based recommendations for management action.

Executive decision support

Prepare high-quality strategy papers, executive presentations, dashboards, business-performance insights and decision materials for regional and country leadership forums. Translate complex information into clear conclusions, options and recommended actions.

Strategic governance and execution discipline

Maintain governance over strategic initiatives through integrated action, decision, risk, dependency and milestone tracking. Strengthen accountability, follow-through and transparency across interdependent workstreams.

Data, management information and AI enablement

Improve the quality, consistency and usability of management information, analytics and performance-reporting frameworks. Coordinate the remediation of material data-capture, system and reporting-logic issues and apply approved analytics and AI tools responsibly to strengthen insight generation and execution.

Strategic programme delivery

Lead or coordinate priority strategic programmes, initiatives, leadership workshops, offsites and internal or external executive engagements from problem definition through decision support, implementation and benefits tracking.

Stakeholder alignment and influence

Partner with Business Heads, Country Heads and functional leaders to align priorities, resolve execution challenges and coordinate delivery across organisational and geographic boundaries. Use evidence, commercial understanding and trusted relationships to influence outcomes without assuming final executive decision authority.

Business planning, prioritisation and implementation feasibility

Evaluate strategic priorities, investment affordability, resource requirements, execution capacity and implementation feasibility across differing African-market contexts. Provide evidence-based recommendations to Business and Country Heads to inform prioritisation, resource allocation and sustainable delivery of regional and Group strategic objectives.

Risk, governance and control

Apply relevant governance, regulatory, confidentiality and control requirements across strategic analysis, management information and programme delivery. Identify and escalate material strategic, operational, data and execution risks and support the implementation of appropriate mitigating actions.

Team and capability development

Provide direction, coaching and quality oversight to junior team members, analysts and project contributors. Develop reusable tools, templates, analytical approaches and governance frameworks that improve consistency, capability and delivery efficiency.

Experience Required

- Minimum 7 years Relevant experience in business strategy, management consulting, Global Markets, treasury, business performance, strategic programme delivery or a related environment.
