Hiring a Waste Operations Analyst! Job Description The Waste Operations Analyst is an entry-level role that supports commercial and specialized waste operations through data analysis, research, and administrative support. Working within established procedures, this position helps identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce customer costs, and support specialized waste projects. This role is ideal for individuals at the start of their careers who demonstrate strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, with responsibilities expanding as knowledge, accuracy, and proficiency grow. Responsibilities
- Support the analysis of commercial and specialized waste programs to improve operational performance.
- Collect, organize, and review operational, financial, and service data to support decision-making.
- Assist with evaluating vendor pricing, service levels, utilization, and contract information.
- Support cost reduction and service optimization initiatives by following established company procedures.
- Assist with specialized waste projects involving hazardous, non-hazardous, and other regulated waste streams in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to waste operations and projects.
- Update customer and vendor information within company systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize company-approved software and analytical tools, including reporting and video analysis platforms, to analyze and present data.
- Collaborate with Sales, Vendor Management, Customer Management, and other internal departments to support operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the broader operations team.
Essential Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Environmental Science, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with operational and financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights.
- Ability to learn technical processes, business systems, and regulatory requirements related to waste operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and cross-functional collaboration.
- Internship or entry-level experience in operations, logistics, transportation, environmental services, business analysis, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, reporting tools, or project management software.
- Interest in commercial and specialized waste operations, including hazardous, non-hazardous, and regulated waste streams.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Vendor Management, and Customer Management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
Work Environment This role is based in an office environment, working on-site five days per week. The position involves extensive use of computers, company-approved software, and analytical tools, including reporting and video analysis platforms. Work is primarily desk-based, focused on data analysis, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, Vendor Management, and Customer Management. The environment supports learning and professional development, with responsibilities expanding as the analyst gains experience and demonstrates accuracy and proficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
