 About the Role

As our new Embedded Vision Engineer – Poultry Innovation , you will play a key role in developing the next generation of vision-based inspection and processing systems for the global poultry industry.

This role goes beyond traditional software development.

- You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing embedded vision platforms that power advanced poultry processing and inspection solutions.
- You will work at the intersection of embedded Linux, industrial imaging, artificial intelligence, machine vision, and high-performance computing.
- You will collaborate closely with innovation, product development, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to create robust vision solutions that deliver accuracy, speed, and reliability in demanding industrial environments.

The ideal candidate combines strong expertise in embedded software engineering, machine vision, Linux-based systems, and industrial automation with a passion for innovation and technical leadership.

易 Key Responsibilities

Embedded Vision System Development & Architecture

- Architect, develop, and maintain embedded vision systems running on Linux-based ARM platforms.
- Design scalable and reliable vision system architectures supporting next-generation poultry processing equipment.
- Integrate industrial cameras, sensors, and illumination systems for high-speed image acquisition and analysis.
- Optimize system performance to meet real-time processing and throughput requirements in industrial environments.
- Support standardization and future-proofing of vision platforms across multiple product lines.

Software Engineering & AI Deployment

- Develop and optimize software components in C++ and Python for image processing, machine control, and data handling.
- Build containerized vision applications using Docker for scalable deployment and reproducible environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Deploy and manage AI inference workloads using Triton Inference Server to enable real-time decision-making on embedded hardware.
- Develop lightweight configuration and monitoring interfaces where needed.

Vision Technology Integration & Validation

- Work in multidisciplinary project teams alongside project managers, vision application engineers, system architects, electrical engineers, and software engineers.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product teams to ensure seamless integration of vision systems into complete machine solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving hardware, software, networking, and camera interfaces.
- Define validation and verification strategies and execute system testing activities.
- Ensure solutions meet quality, reliability, safety, and performance requirements.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

- Lead technical design reviews and contribute to key architectural decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical skill development within the team.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to the long-term vision technology roadmap for Poultry Innovation.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies in embedded computing, AI, and machine vision to maintain technology leadership.

️ What kind of person are you?

You will recognize yourself in the following:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, machine vision, or industrial automation environments.
- Strong experience with Embedded Linux and ARM-based platforms.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python software development.
- Experience integrating industrial cameras, image acquisition systems, and vision hardware.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software development methodologies.
- Experience deploying or supporting AI inference frameworks, preferably Triton Inference Server.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex multidisciplinary systems.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on when needed.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Broad technical knowledge spanning vision technology, software, electronics, automation, and machine integration.
- Well-structured approach to documentation, validation, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Dutch language skills are preferred.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented mindset.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working in an international innovation environment.
