At HFH Healthcare , we're looking for a compassionate, reliable and engaging Live-In Care Assistant to support a friendly gentleman in his late 20s living with a spinal cord injury in his own home in Stevenage.

Our client is sociable, easy-going and a big Manchester United fan! He enjoys spending time with friends and family and values being able to maintain an active social life.

We're looking for someone who is positive, personable and professional — someone who enjoys a good conversation, shares his enthusiasm for everyday life and understands the importance of respecting his independence.

This is an opportunity to build a genuine working relationship with one client, supporting him to enjoy his routines, friendships and interests while receiving excellent care at home.

About the Role

This is a live-in position working on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rota , providing consistent support in our client's home.

Pay: Up to £134.48 per day , paid through PAYE.

The role involves supporting daily living activities, complex care needs and social opportunities, helping our client remain comfortable, independent and involved in the things he enjoys.

What will you be doing?

- Providing personalised care and assistance with daily routines.
- Supporting personal care, dressing and hygiene.
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and positioning.
- Supporting bowel management and catheter care.
- Assisting with cough assist equipment in line with training and care plans.
- Encouraging independence and respecting personal preferences.
- Supporting social activities, appointments and outings when required.
- Monitoring comfort, wellbeing and changes in condition.
- Working collaboratively with the client, family and healthcare professionals.

What are we looking for?

- At least 6 months' healthcare experience.
- Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries or complex care needs.
- Confidence with personal care, mobility assistance and catheter care.
- Knowledge of bowel management and cough assist equipment is desirable.
- A friendly, positive and engaging personality.
- Someone reliable, patient and respectful of personal space.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Commitment to the 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rota.
- A genuine passion for promoting independence and quality of life.

You don't have to support Manchester United — but being happy to talk football would certainly help!
