ABOUT THE TEAM
As part of Unzer's Legal Team, you will help protect the business, ensure compliance, and support growth in the highly regulated payments sector. Guided by our "merchant first" principle, you will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice with speed, integrity, and a solution-focused mindset, partnering closely with teams across the company to drive success.

What your work will look like:

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements in both German and English, including contracts with suppliers, partners, and regulatory service providers.

- Develop and maintain contract templates, standards, and legal processes to support business efficiency and scalability.

- Provide pragmatic and business-focused legal advice on product development, innovation initiatives, and day-to-day legal matters.

- Conduct legal research and analysis, translate findings into clear recommendations, and support their implementation across the business.

- Partner closely with stakeholders across various functions to facilitate effective collaboration and drive business objectives.

- Deliver legal training sessions and share knowledge with internal teams to promote legal awareness and best practices.

- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments, particularly within the payments and financial services industry, and assess their impact on the business.

What you need to be successful in this role:

- Successfully completed legal studies in a major European jurisdiction , ideally with above-average academic results, and a strong interest in pursuing a broad, generalist legal role within the fintech, payments, or financial services industry.

- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in an in-house legal department, law firm, or a similarly regulated environment.

- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams.

- A structured, proactive, and independent working style, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- A pragmatic business mindset with the ability to provide commercially focused legal advice while balancing legal, operational, and technical considerations.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly, concisely, and in a solution-oriented manner.

- Professional fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
