About this role
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
As a Program Manager on the Google Arts and Culture (GAC) team, you will sit at the intersection of strategy and operations, acting as a critical bridge between GAC leadership, product teams, cross-functional partners, and global external cultural organizations. By driving rigorous metrics tracking and process improvements, you will ensure that our teams are aligned and operating efficiently. You will act as the connective tissue across the organization, translating high-level strategy into actionable operational plans and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
GAC is a cross-functional product group at Google. Our mission is to preserve, promote, and democratize access to culture. Together with museums, cultural institutions, and artists we bring the world's cultural heritage online and make immersive experiences available to anyone, anywhere.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management, business operations, or strategy and operations, with ownership of end-to-end program lifecycles.
- Experience managing program budgets, financial tracking, and resource allocation (e.g., forecasting, tracking burn rates, agreement milestones).
- Experience defining, tracking, and reporting operational and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) for executive leadership.
- Experience driving cross-functional alignment across technical (engineering/product) and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., partnerships, content, or external institutions).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in Business Operations and Strategy (BizOps), central PMO, or strategy and operations within a fast-paced technology company, leading cultural institution, or management consultancy.
- Experience managing complex agreements and strategic external partnerships with global cultural or public institutions (museums, research centers, foundations, academic bodies).
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in advanced sheets/spreadsheet software, SQL, or dashboarding tools.
- Experience working with emerging technologies, specifically managing projects or operations that intersect with AI/ML, creative tech, or digital innovation.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience synthesizing complex technical, financial, and strategic data into crisp C-level memos, and weekly operational updates.
- Drive the strategic planning rhythms for GAC, including the development, reviewing, and tracking of goals across the organization. Oversee budget planning, allocation, and tracking, ensuring resources are optimally deployed in alignment with top-line strategic goals.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams (including Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing) to align strategic priorities, unblock execution, and ensure seamless collaboration.
- Act as a reliable operational contact for external strategic partners (museums, artists, scientific institutions), ensuring operational milestones and contract requirements are met.
- Prepare clear, concise, and structured weekly status reports, budget updates, and executive briefs for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage partnerships, program lifecycles, establish and track program metrics, and identify opportunities to improve tools and processes for team efficiency. Monitor, evaluate, and communicate program progress; apply best practices and internal tools to drive experiment velocity and operational efficiency.
