About this role
Why this role matters
Are you a finance professional who is commercially curious and thrives in a dynamic, international environment? At GXO Logistics, we are looking for a Commercial Controller who sits at the front of every new business proposition and makes sure our deals are both winnable for the customer and profitable for GXO.
This is a full-time role at our Head Office in Eindhoven, where together with a fellow controller and the Commercial Director you drive the commercial governance for new business across Northern Europe. You are the financial engine behind every proposition — not an executor, but a sparring partner who challenges, advises and takes calculated risks, even when the framework is not yet black-and-white.
What’s in it for you
We’re looking to offer a competitive gross annual salary depending on knowledge and experience including a company car.
Your benefits package includes:
- A pension scheme via GXO
- A key role in which you are the front runner in every new deal, with high autonomy and direct impact
- Short lines to the leadership team and plenty of room for financial engineering and your own input
- Working in an international and rapidly growing organization
- Broad opportunities for personal development and career growth, including towards a heavier negotiation role in large deals
- Low travel intensity and a good work-life balance from our Head Office in Eindhoven
How you’ll make an impact
- Build and maintain DCF models to financially evaluate new propositions (payback, ROIC, EBITDA)
- Challenge and validate cost models based on input from internal specialists, keeping costing accurate and up to date
- Advise at the front of the deal process and validate propositions along the way towards commercial sign-off
- Run iterative conversations with Business Development and Solution Design managers on costing, pricing and commercial scope
- Model and fine-tune propositions across multiple tender rounds towards the optimal outcome for customers and GXO
- Prepare and guide the internal mandating and approval process (Delegation of Authority)
- Set up financial structures with internal partners (accounting, treasury, tax, credit) and external parties such as financiers, in line with US GAAP
- Translate cost models into consistent pricing and rate cards, and support contracting and negotiations for smaller customers
What you’ll bring to GXO
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Experience in financial control (business, site or financial control) with financial modelling and investment analysis
- Strong knowledge of financial evaluation modelling, cashflow/P&L and accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- A commercially savvy, flexible mindset, comfortable in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment — you think in possibilities, not just in “yes or no”
- Strong communication skills: you translate figures into advice that is experienced as support
- Advanced English, written and spoken
- Nice to have: experience in contracting/negotiations, solution design cost modeling, FP&A, financial engineering, or Power BI/Python and ERP/BI systems
Your work environment
Working at GXO Logistics means being part of a dynamic and international organization where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to develop yourself to your full potential, supported by a company that values entrepreneurship, growth, and sustainability.
With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, employee development, and innovation, GXO is proud to be one of the top 3 logistics service providers worldwide.
