About this role
CSX is transforming the rail industry through innovative approaches to data & analytics. To maintain the pace of change we are looking for a Sr Mgr Data & Analytics that is passionate about architecting data & analytics solutions that enhance our business. This position will manage all aspects of system improvement, including assessing current state capabilities; analyzing large data sets; identifying the business side of improved technologies; defining requirements, design and implementation support. This position will lead the Data & Analytics team, providing experienced technical design, data & analytics thought leadership, and recommended standard methodologies for developing solutions. Provides Low-tech / No-tech solutions where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience in business analysis/architecture, systems analysis, data warehousing, business intelligence, operations research and/or financial systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience in the railroad transportation industry in business analysis/architecture, systems analysis, data warehousing, business intelligence, operations research and/or financial systems
Five or more years of experience utilizing SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, data warehousing, analytics platforms, and business intelligence tools in large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience supporting Payroll, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Operations functions through data analytics, workforce insights, and reporting solutions.
Demonstrated success managing high-priority initiatives and delivering results under tight timelines and changing business conditions.
Knowledge and Skills

- Working knowledge of data modeling, warehousing and mining
- Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information, draw conclusions and develop innovative solutions
- Basic understanding of financial analysis and reporting processes
- Adept at learning and applying new technologies
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels across the organization
- Advanced proficiency with SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Office Suite, Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle DBMS, TOAD for Oracle, SAS, and Focus Programming
