Overview <div>We are hiring Solution Engineers to help high-growth Digital Native and Startup customers build, modernize and scale on Microsoft Azure. This role wins the technical decision by connecting customer product and business outcomes to practical cloud, AI, data and application architectures, then proving those architectures through demos, workshops, pilots and production-readiness plans. </div><div>The successful candidate will work across account teams, specialists, partners, customer success, engineering and product groups to unblock adoption, accelerate opportunities and turn customer ambition into measurable Azure usage, revenue and long-term platform commitment. </div><div>Why this role matters </div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Digital Native and software company customers are increasingly AI-first, software-led and globally distributed. They need technical partners who can move from vision to architecture, proof and production quickly. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Customer work is spanning agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, data modernization, cloud-native applications, developer productivity, capacity planning, security, governance and FinOps. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>The role requires both technical depth and commercial judgement: the SE must influence senior technical leaders, remove blockers, qualify technical risk, create repeatable patterns and help progress opportunities across regions. </li></ul></div>The Solution Engineer will serve as a technical advisor for priority EMEA customers, leading technical discovery, architecture, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and production-readiness engagements. Responsibilities <div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Own technical strategy for assigned Digital Native and Startup customers from discovery through technical close, MVP, pilot and production adoption. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Lead architecture-led customer conversations across Azure AI, application innovation, data platforms, developer tools, cloud operations, governance and security. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Design credible end-to-end solutions using services such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agents and RAG patterns, Azure Kubernetes Service, containers, serverless, APIs, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BI and GitHub. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Deliver demos, whiteboarding sessions, architecture workshops, proof of concepts and technical validations that demonstrate clear business value and path to production. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Translate customer product goals, business priorities and technical complexity into decision criteria, success plans, implementation roadmaps and measurable outcomes. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Identify and remove technical blockers including architecture gaps, security concerns, capacity and quota constraints, migration risks, integration challenges and operational readiness issues. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Partner with account executives, specialists and customer success teams to support pipeline creation, opportunity progression, technical win documentation, milestone hygiene and forecast quality. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Differentiate Microsoft against competitors by positioning Azure as a trusted, secure, scalable and integrated platform for AI-native software companies. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Capture reusable patterns, lessons learned, field feedback and customer insights so the Digital Natives business can scale consistently across US, Asia and EMEA. </li></ul></div> Qualifications <div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, cloud architecture, software engineering, technical consulting or equivalent customer-facing technical role. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Demonstrated ability to influence technical and business stakeholders, including CTOs, founders, engineering leaders, architects and product leaders. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Hands-on understanding of cloud architecture and modern application design, including security, reliability, scalability, integration and operations. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Practical experience with AI, data, analytics, application modernization or developer platform solutions on Azure or comparable cloud platforms. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Experience creating demos, prototypes, POCs, pilots or MVPs that lead to technical decisions and production adoption. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Strong communication, storytelling and collaboration skills; ability to drive consensus without direct authority. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li></ul></div><div>Preferred qualifications </div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Depth in one or more of: Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agentic systems, RAG, Azure Kubernetes Service, containers, serverless, API platforms, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BI or GitHub. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Experience with Digital Native, Startup, SaaS, marketplace, venture-backed or product-led-growth customer scenarios. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Understanding of AI governance, Responsible AI, security, compliance, model evaluation, observability, cost management and FinOps. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Ability to support technical sales motions across complex territories, multiple stakeholders and fast-moving customer priorities. </li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Experience with competitive positioning and objection handling in AI, cloud platform, data or developer tool markets. </li></ul></div> Digital Solution Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 81,500.00 - € 139,200.00 per year.
