Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing team!
If you are a technically accomplished systems engineering professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-focused environment, we have an exciting opportunity for you in Boulder, Colorado. This position supports a customer’s critical defense systems and requires full-time, on-site work in an open-office environment.
What You’ll Be Doing :
- Contribute to all phases of the system lifecycle, including CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, test, operations, and maintenance.
- Support mission design activities, interface definition, and baseline management.
- Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts, including: Requirements, Architecture designs, Interface Control Documents, Use cases, System flow diagrams, Test plans
- Conduct and support Technical Interchange Meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary development teams, government organizations, and vendors to drive problem resolution and improve collaboration.
- Support technical risk identification, analysis, and management activities.
- Assist with special studies and other systems engineering activities as required.
- Interface directly with the customer while maintaining strong attention to detail and professional communication.
- Apply both classic and modern systems engineering techniques to support mission and program objectives.
- Support improvements to project management discipline through increased collaboration, innovation, adaptability, and flexibility.
- Help optimize return on investment through effective systems engineering and project management practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers when appropriate.
- Assume a technical leadership role within the team when required.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring :
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor degree, with additional years of experience able to count in lieu of a degree
- 8+ years of experience, with additional education, training, and certifications about to count towards total years of experience
- Experience supporting multiple stages of the program lifecycle, including design, integration, test, operations, and maintenance.
- Significant hands-on experience in at least one of the following technical domains: Software, Cloud, Networking, Cybersecurity
- Experience working on multidisciplinary design and development teams.
- Experience identifying and managing technical risks.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively through oral presentations and written documentation.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to deliver high-level technical messaging to a variety of audiences, including senior leaders.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to nontechnical personnel.
- Strong interpersonal and customer interface skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to live near or relocate to the Boulder, Colorado area, as this position requires full-time on-site work.
What Desired Skills You Might Bring :
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, particularly using Cameo.
- Experience supporting Overhead Persistent Infrared missions or OPIR ground systems.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
- Experience working within an Agile workflow.
- Experience supporting defense or other mission-critical systems.
- Experience applying modern systems engineering and project management techniques to improve adaptability, collaboration, and program outcomes
Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
