Job Description Summary
As Head of T&C Partnering, you lead, develop and deploy a team of T&C Partners who provide deep expertise to business units, strategic cross-unit talent cohorts, enterprise programs and People Experience product development and delivery. You also personally operate as a T&C Partner for an assigned business unit or cohort, working with the Unit Head Workforce Strategy and Unit Business Leader to shape unit-level talent, leadership and culture priorities and translate them into practical actions. As a member of the Talent & Culture Leadership Team, you connect business priorities and feedback to the T&C expert community, synthesize enterprise patterns and ensure the team combines business intimacy with an enterprise mandate. You allocate work according to strategic value and prioritize based on available capacity, expertise and development needs, and remain accountable for team capability, consulting quality and contribution to talent outcomes, decision quality and enterprise impact.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Talent and Culture Partners, setting clear priorities, accountabilities and ways of working.
- Manage portfolio demand and team capacity, prioritising work based on business need, strategic value, risk, scale and enterprise priorities.
- Set standards for high-quality Talent and Culture partnering, ensuring consistent advice, strong diagnostics, clear documentation and effective escalation.
- Partner directly with an assigned business unit or strategic cohort to understand strategy, workforce priorities, talent risks and leadership needs.
- Translate business and workforce priorities into practical talent, succession, leadership, performance, culture, skills, inclusion and capability actions.
- Provide specialist advice and constructive challenge on complex talent, leadership and culture decisions, using evidence, enterprise standards and sound judgement.
- Identify cross-business insights, recurring risks and capability gaps, and share recommendations to improve enterprise frameworks, products and practices.
- Support enterprise Talent and Culture priorities, product development and targeted interventions while ensuring governance, fairness, confidentiality and appropriate risk management.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Criteria:

- Significant Talent & Culture leadership experience: Extensive progressive P&O/HR experience in a large, complex global matrix organisation, with senior responsibility across talent, leadership development, performance, culture, inclusion, organisational capability or related disciplines.
- Team leadership and capability building: Proven experience leading, coaching and developing senior experts or consultants, including managing performance, succession, career development and deployment across competing priorities.
- Portfolio and resource management: Strong ability to manage a flexible portfolio of business, cohort, program and product assignments, making transparent prioritisation and resource-allocation decisions.
- Senior advisory and consulting capability: Credible experience advising senior P&O and business leaders on complex talent and leadership matters, translating business strategy into practical priorities and solutions.
- Enterprise operating-model expertise: Experience applying enterprise frameworks across different business contexts, working effectively across Expertise Hubs, Workforce Strategy Heads/Partners and People Experience with clear decision rights.
- Data, analytics and AI fluency: Skilled in using talent analytics, dashboards, qualitative insights and AI-enabled HR tools to diagnose issues, identify enterprise patterns, evaluate outcomes and manage data, privacy and bias risks.
- Strategic influence and delivery: Able to build trusted collaborative relationships, balance business needs with enterprise consistency, make evidence-based trade-offs and deliver measurable Talent & Culture outcomes.

Benefits & Rewards

The salary for this position is expected to range between 225,400.00 - 418,600.00 USD Annual per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
