Job Objective:
We are seeking a data-driven and analytically minded professional to join the Data Science and AI Engineering team within International Health, Cigna Healthcare. Our team designs and delivers high-impact descriptive and predictive analytics and agentic AI solutions to address complex challenges across global and local healthcare markets.
This is a technical role that delivers quality end-to-end analytical support across multiple D&A use case projects of Cigna International Markets. The role of the Data Analyst is to also work as a member of the IM D&A team and with stakeholders and, transform business questions and issues into data driven analytical solutions.
- Key stakeholders will include: direct team members (Data Scientists, Product Owners/Managers, Analytics leaders, Data Engineers, IT Engineers and Data Governance specialists) and key business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with Product Owners and domain stakeholders to understand business challenges, and recommend appropriate analytical approaches
- Operate effectively within an agile operating model, collaborating in cross-functional squads, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery of analytics and data products
- Contribute to the responsible application of Agentic AI by designing, building, and maintaining domain‑aligned knowledge bases that enable Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), agent‑assisted analytics, and high‑quality, explainable insight generation.
- Design, curate, and maintain high-quality data products by identifying and managing critical data elements (CDEs), ensuring data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and fitness for advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases
- Track, quantify, and communicate the business value and impact generated by deployed analytics and AI-enabled data products
- Work with Data Engineering and Cloud Engineering teams to stay aligned on data ingestion, enrichment, and availability, leveraging both first- and third-party healthcare and provider data
- Active team member in providing the required support to help business understand and optimise use of analytical products and / or solutions
- Build industry knowledge on the advancements in the field of data science and analytics
- Comply with the IM Cigna and CHSI Policies, procedures and processes, and continuously demonstrate Cigna DNA culture.
Key activities
- Working in a team to support end-to-end analytical projects Liaising with stakeholders to determine objectives / scope of upcoming projects
- Data exploration, cleansing and manipulation
- Determining appropriate type of analysis and undertaking analysis
- Clear presentation of insights via spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, self-service analytical visualisation tools
- Ongoing stakeholder interaction (internal and external as required) on project progress
- Contribute to the Feedback process (between stakeholders and the team) to ensure continuous improvement with team
- Participate and contribute in learning forums and sharing knowledge with wider team
Experience and education required
- 4+ years’ experience in a technical analytics environment, carrying out data analytics and data science/machine learning
- Tertiary education in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and modeling
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience in cloud-based data and analytics platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Databricks, including services such as SageMaker, Athena, or equivalent
- Good understanding of Foundation Models, including their capabilities, limitations, risk considerations, and appropriate enterprise usage patterns
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and agent engineering, supporting analytics workflows, RAG-based solutions, insight generation, or decision-support use cases
- Coding and modelling experience in SQL / R / Python and / or big data platforms
- Experience in visualization and data management tools an added advantage
- Experience working with complex datasets
- Attention to detail & drive for continuous improvement
- Participation in external data hackathons and competitions will be an added advantage
